Thanksgiving Day... Out!
Maybe cooking a turkey isn’t your thing. Or maybe you haven’t already stocked up on your Thanksgiving Day groceries and a grocery store run sounds like the LAST thing you want to do. And don’t let the Holiday week fool you, traffic is still alive and well and is the WORST on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Most the corporate world only takes Thursday and Friday off, so there’s a mad rush to get out of the city at 5pm. Whatever you do, STAY OFF THE ROAD during that time!
If you’re a victim to either of these two things (turkey burner or grocery shopping procrastinator) going out for Thanksgiving might be just the thing you need to save your holiday. And don’t feel ashamed! You can’t do it all so give yourself a break, grab a reservation for tomorrow, and pour yourself a glass of wine tonight and enjoy being with loved ones.
So often in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we can forget what the true meaning for these holidays are. It’s a time to reflect on the year’s past with gratefulness and begin to dream for the next. To be close to loved ones and cherish the time you get to spend together. It’s ok if this year the to do list didn’t get done and the turkey wasn’t cooked. Just scoop up your loved ones and enjoy the day whatever it looks like.
