Barrel aged Cocktails at Porta Via Palisades
At first glance, the vibe at Porta Via, with pink chairs, delicate greenery, and gold pops everywhere, may seem to be the hot spot for ladies who lunch. We’re not saying it isn’t that, but we’re also saying it’s the perfect spot for anyone who can appreciate a great dining experience. The first Porta Via location was opened in 1994 on Canon Ave in Beverly Hills. At the time, what is now known as Restaurant row, only 4 hair salons occupied the street where founder, Peter Garland saw an opportunity to feed these world renown hair stylists. The plan worked and what started as a 900 square foot small hole in the wall has now expanded to a 4000 square food restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining.
It wasn’t until 2018 that Peter and Porta Via were invited to be apart of what is now the Palisades Village, created by Rick Caruso, the developer behind the Grove and Americana on Brand. This location is where you’ll find the pink, delicate greenery, and gold pops everywhere. The Palisades Village, where Porta Via is located, feels like the main street of a small (fancy) town, circa 1952. In addition to a stunning dining room, Porta Via, positioned perfectly at the end of the curved street, also provides a patio experience with the perfect views of the Main St-esque Palisades Village.
The menu is inspired by the philosophy of Peter, the founder, combining the best seasonal organic and natural ingredients simply prepared. Wines are carefully curated and you’ll be impressed to find a few barrel aged cocktails. A (tequila!!) Old Fashioned, Manhattan, and BouleVardier are barrel aged on display at the bar.
