Wine, Charcuterie Boards, and a Parisian Getaway in the Heart of Downtown LA

Downtown life in Los Angeles has a little taste of everything. Taco trucks, social clubs, ramen spots and even this French hole in the wall, Mignon. The vibe is casual, and as classy as the joint is, boxes litter the corners of the restaurant, looking as if shipments have come in, but have yet to be put away. It goes against the flow of the bar but it works. It creates an environment that says, “Hey, we’re Mignon and we’re not totally put together so if you’re not either, that’s more than ok and very welcome here.” In a perfectly curated world, that’s more refreshing than we ever thought a couple of random boxes could ever be.

Menu items like Foie Gras au Torchon, Filets de Sardines, and Escargots à la Bourguignonne prove that beyond that slightly disheveled appearance of unpacked boxes, (in certain areas of the bar, the overall look and feel is absolutely lovely) this spot has some fancy food. The charcuterie board is delicious, with five different meats coming putting the price point at $20 and very worth it.

Happy hour happens every day from 6-7 and the ham and brie croissant sandwich is the perfect ‘after-work treat’ to go with your happy hour glass of wine. Their seating is limited inside, with just two stand alone tables and one gorgeous dark oak bar filling the center of the place. Due to COVID restrictions, additional patio seating has been added to keep the flow of customers coming. Because what better way to kick of your weekend than a trip to DTLA to sip some wine, eat some cheese, and feel like you’ve been whisked away to a Parisian hole in the wall getaway.
