Where to Find the Best Ramen for a Rainy Day in LA

Rain doesn’t happen often in LA but when it does, all five times a year, two things happen. Traffic gets even crazier than normal (what would take an hour turns into two) and instagram stories are filled with portrait setting raindrops on windows. (Cue the Pacific Northwest laughing hysterically.) What can we say?! It rarely rains so when it does, we all want to savor the moment. And there are few things that sound more perfect than a bowl of Ramen while it’s raining.

Ramen, a traditional Japanese noodle dish with meat broth and a variety of toppings (and that slightly browned boiled egg is the trademark!) didn’t start as the instant ramen noodle you may have grown up with. It’s believed that the instant ramen and cup o’ noodle were the introductory to ramen in the states, but it’s been the last decade that the insurgence of proper ramen noodle dishes (whose origin dates back centuries) and restaurants have popped up all over America.

Despite it’s eternal sunshine, LA is surprisingly known for having some of the best ramen. Even though the rain has come and gone, it’s never a bad idea to grab some ramen. So, in honor of the recent rainy days, we’ve rounded up the top 10 ramen spots we’ve found in the city for you to enjoy the next time a rainy day rolls around!
