The Castle Like Brunch Experience We've Been Itching to Get Back To

With temperatures rising and Covid-19 cases dropping, LA is finally opening up again. It may be a slower, staggered approached but I’m still so thankful to see LA come back to life again. And one of LA’s staples just announced they’ll be returning for breakfast and lunch service tomorrow, June 11th. Cafe. Bakery. Bar. Bistro. French plates, stunning interior design, and a communal table to pull it all together, Republique is back in action!
If you haven’t made it out to experience the gorgeous, castle-like restaurant but you HAVE binge-watched the Netflix series, Chef’s Table, you’ll recognize the name Nancy Silverton. Now the owner of Mozza Restaurant Group, she and Chef Mark Peel converted the space into its first restaurant format, the expanded La Brea Bakery. Originally built in 1928 by Charlie Chaplin, the space served as a mix-used space with shops on the ground floor and offices on the second. After over 20 years as the restaurant, ‘Campanile’, Republique took its place, opening its doors In 2013.
And now, we get to enjoy dine-in service again in this magical castle-like restaurant! Hours will only be 9am-2pm for breakfast and lunch service. I’m a sucker for a good Croque Madame and theirs does not disappoint! We’re all itching to get out of the house but if you can’t make it for breakfast or lunch, dinner will still be available for take out. Thursday - Saturday, from 4pm-7pm, with a rotating fixed menu for $49 a person.
