How We're Celebrating Labor Day this Weekend with dineLA

We’re heading into our 3rd holiday weekend since COVID-19 hit the LA scene and some of us might be tensing up for the worst. After scrolling through an LA guide on things to do during Labor Day weekend and seeing literally every single event canceled, I experienced some of my own 'bracing for the worst’ moment. Remembering how reports of COVID cases went up right after the 4th of July and consequently, everything shut down again, I’m hoping we don’t make the same mistake twice. We have to hold our two realities in tension, knowing that there is a virus sweeping our planet all the while we are still human beings, in need of compassion and connection.

Events have been canceled but there is still a fun and safe way to celebrate the long weekend because DINE LA HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING! In 2008, the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board partnered with American Express to introduce a 2-week concept called dineLA, in which participating restaurants create a special coursed menu at a discounted price.

This year, from September 1st to September 18th, over 300 restaurants in LA are participating with prices ranging from $15-$35 for lunch, and an average $$35-$55 for a 3 coursed dinner. So maybe we can’t have a house party or go to a concert this year, but make the weekend special by heading to one of your favorite restaurants this weekend.

Here’s a roundup of our favorite spots participating in dineLA. Click on each name to see the special menu or click here to get the full list of over 300 participating restaurants. Happy dining!
