The “High-Low” trend in fashion is the general idea of high fashion, tailored, and custom pieces with more casual, every day pieces. Much like the fashion trend, you’ll find a similar experience at Hi-Lo Liquor Market. It’s not as common in bigger cities, but in smaller towns, you’ll always find a corner market store nearby to pick up those eggs you forgot at the grocery store. With the same idea, Hi-Lo has become the corner market in 2 LA County neighborhoods; Culver City and Long Beach. With a dream of being in every neighborhood in LA as that staple corner store market, Hi-Lo delivers an elevated approach to your every day items.

Things you’ll find in this charming red-trimmed market range everywhere between a craft New American whiskey to toilet paper. Convenience items, epicurean snacks, gourmet foods, heritage sundries and even a ‘build-your-own six-pack’ of craft beer. You'll also find cocktail accessories, local gins, and fresh-pressed juice vegan queso, gourmet potato chips, decadent chocolates as well as sandwiches and good of course, the classic Diet Coke. As a rejuvenation of the classic corner store market, they have successfully curated a selection that provides a little something for everyone.

Also good family friends, the idea of Hi-Lo came in the most authentic place to the vision of the store; grilling in the backyard, sipping cocktails, reflecting on how even the small moments of exhaling the day with good friends, food, and drinks were worth celebrating. With a desire to create a place where family and friends could connect and celebrate in this same way, founders Talmadge Lowe and Chris Harris realized that the vision of Hi-Lo was just want every neighborhood in America needed.

“We wanted to create a store curated with a spectrum of unique and approachable options that felt bright and open and welcoming. Something that the neighborhood would embrace, not just as a go-to for a quick dinner party wine or a cool whiskey gift, but as place they could bring the kids for a snack or get the eggs they forgot at the grocery. We added a beer and wine bar to the store partly as a place to experience the ever-changing landscape of new beer and wine, but also as a convenient place to gather some friends from work or the neighborhood for casual night out. We think of ourselves as the new and modern neighborhood bodega.”

A local, friendly, and knowledgeable shop of their own to find convenience items as well as a place to gather and enjoy a few sips of something delicious.  Because as founders Lowe and Harris say, those shared, small moments of celebration are almost always accompanied with right beer, wine, or cocktail.
