BYOBing with Caribbean Cuisine with an extra side of Latin Cuisine
You know those hole in the walls that don't get any of the attention because their aesthetic isn't as pleasing to the eye but the food is so good?! Those are my favorite kind of finds! And Cha Cha Chicken is MOST DEFINITELY that. Also, how expensive can drinking at restaurants get in LA? Two cocktails in and you've already paid more in drinks than you did your entree. It's worth it for the experience but every now and then, it's nice to spend a little less on your booze and the best way to do that is to pay for it at store prices. Cha Cha Chicken let's you BYOB (Bring your own booze)
Here's the sitch on this spot. It's Caribbean cuisine with Latin Fusion. You'll see platters with enchiladas, fried plantains AND Jamaican style Jerk chicken. You order before you sit down at what feels like a drive up, but it's a walk up. The line can get pretty long but the 30-45 minutes wait IS WORTH IT. The upside is it'll give you lots of time to decide what you want! There are a few seats inside but you'll definitely want to sit outside. The Jamaican feel on the patio will match your Jamaican Jerk Chicken perfectly.
Try the Jamaican soda, they're fruity and refreshing and another great pairing with the Jamaican feel patio. The spicy jerked wings are a little spicy and sweet taste of Heaven with coconut battered chicken wings in a sweet and spicy pineapple jerk sauce. All the platters are stacked and filling portions and the best part about you overeating here is how close it is to the beach! Just our a few corners off from Ocean Ave and you can walk your dinner off at the stunning Santa Monica beach.
