Margot

Restaurant, bar, and patio.
Italian cuisine, California twist.

Margot Bar

From the decor to the mugs we sipped our coffee in, Margot was an eclectic and somewhat complicated experience. Arriving was slightly confusing, with it being located in the back of an outdoor mall in Culver City calle, The Platform. Signs reminiscent of an amusement park help to guide you from the parking garage to Margot, with the same effectiveness as a park map. (Who can even read those?!) A highlight: parking is free for 3 hours when you do eat at Margot. But if you have claustrophobia don’t park there. Smaller in width but multiple stories and a poor exit system causes quite the traffic jam getting out.

Eggs Benedict TO DIE FOR

Eggs Benedict TO DIE FOR

After following the somewhat complicated signage to get to Margot, you do finally see the stylish yet simple sign from afar, assuring you that Margot is just up ahead. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and shares an elevator with Soul Cycler’s so be ready for that. (Soul Cycler’s pour in and out as it is located on the 2nd floor)

The experience getting there wasn’t optimal and the pictures online seemed to overpromise a more aesthetically pleasing experience than what was really delivered. (The construction across the street didn’t help) But it is truly worth it because THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE.

We went for brunch and ordered the charred broccoli to start. Nothing about charred broccoli sounded like brunch to me, but the waiter assured us it was one of the most popular dishes on the menu and I quickly realized why. The flavor profiles of the tzatziki and feta together were incredible with the broccoli. Who knew?!

The Eggs Benedict was equally fantastic and to top it off, a very talented New Orleans style Jazz band played live on the patio, also playing through the sound system inside. They

were so good, they could easily have been mistaken for a record playing over the house speakers. We’d love to get back there for dinner or drinks as the ambiance would be much stronger at night and the city views a lot more enjoyable (Since the construction is less obstructive at night) Definitely worth a visit.
