Doesn’t it seem like every time you’re trying to eat a little healthier, the craving for Mexican food somehow kicks up to an all-time high? And trying to beat a craving for Mexican food in Los Angeles is like trying to stop smoking while you work for a gourmet smoke shop. Too many of the best and most authentic taco trucks all over the city make it too accessible for you to say no. You can only imagine how exciting it was to find out  LA had a vegan restaurant serving healthy and organic Mexican food, complete with a gorgeous interior and a spacious, magical patio.

100% plant-based and organic, Gracias Madre serves up the best of Mexican food in vegetarian versions so you can keep eating healthy while enjoying the sweet satisfaction of a tasty dish of frijoles. Along with that, you’ll find delicious menu items like the Potato Pimiento Flautas, with crushed avocado in tomatillo, Morita pine nut salsa, and purple cabbage, or the Wet Burrito with jackfruit birria, black beans, brown rice, guacamole, cheddar cheese, chile California sauce. The freshest spin on Momma’s kitchen in Mexico.

Just as you’d imagine from the name, the restaurant was actually inspired by the real-life mamas they’ve met in Mexico, the families of their co-workers, working hard in the kitchen to prepare an authentic Mexican cuisine experience. With love and admiration of these brave women, the name Gracias Madre, “Thank you Mom” was birthed. Inspired by some of the recipes of these families and the love of their mothers, Gracias Madre serves organic, farm-fresh, locally sourced food, full of flavor and love.

In line with their commitment to only the best locally sourced food, they hold a commitment to the preservation of Agave. Every single bottle of Tequila you will find on the shelves of Gracias Madre upholds their commitment to the original processing of Agave. Find out more about the diffusing method and their stance against it. And although we can’t get inside, the interior is gorgeous with a theme reminiscent of upscale Mexico. It’s not often you find a restaurant with an equally enchanting patio as the indoor dining but you’ll find here. Their gorgeous patio bar has been built to create a courtyard feel, perfect for a summer night or a crisp fall evening outdoors.
