Retro Negronis at Capri Club

There’s something about a retro 70s/80s era vibe that has unlocked that timeless vibe magic, capable of coming back even stronger than a 90’s trend. You could say it’s definitely a solid aesthetic choice to build your lounge and bar around, especially if it’s a nod to the origins of the spot. And Capri Club has done just that.

Originally THE neighborhood eatery, serving Italian bites and family style warmth, The Capri opened in 1963, serving up red-sauce Italian dishes and a cozy corner to eat. The bond of loyalty their regulars was proven so strong that the family business carried on under new ownership but long time cliental. After over 50 years of cozy Italian food, the restaurant reemerged in 2019 as the delightfully retro apertivo bar that is is today.

The menu stays fresh with consistent updates of their diverse list of amari, aperitivo-focused cocktails, well-rounded wine selection, and classic Italian bar food. The food menu serves light bites so don’t come hungry unless it’s on Monday or Tuesday, where a nod to the early days of the Capri is carried out with a “Lasagna Night”on Monday and “Pasta Night” on Tuesday.

You’ve made it this far in reading and maybe you’re embarrassed to admit you don’t actually know what an aperitif is. You’re not the only one. “A light, dry or bittersweet drink intended to sharpen the appetite before a meal.” Commonly known in Italy, a couple of aperitif drink examples you may recognize are the Aperol Spritz and Negroni.

“A great place to park.”

Come for the negronis, stay for the community.
