A mostly hidden Japanese eatery off Sunset in the middle of Echo Park, Tsubaki provides Los Angeles a an authentic izakaya experience. A type of informal Japanese bar that service alcohol and snacks or shared plates. Similar to what you find in a British or Irish pub or a Spanish tapas bar.
You’ll find the menu to be small and split up into grilled, fried, steamed, cold, simmered, and noodle sections. Because the menu is set up as shared plates, we recommend you trying a little of everything. The sake menu is impressive so take advantage of all the flavors you’ll be eating and sake you’ll be tasting and enjoy the izakaya experience by staying awhile.
